Who are Makers?

Makers are people who create objects from thin air using 3D-printers, develop fascinating devices using spare electronics parts, or simply build beautiful things. High tech and handicraft join forces. They completely reinvent the do-it-yourself concept. They present their culture, ideas and technologies at the Make Munich to the general public.

What to expect

Growing every year to be held for the forth time in Munich. The Make Munich event itself will be a 2 day festival held in the Zenith Hall here in Munich on 6th and 7th of May 2017.

The Maker Festival consists of 2 days of exhibitions, workshops, project presentations, talks and a community party.

We would love for you to have a booth, workshop or talk that represents your work.

We’re very open to ideas and suggestions – mainly, we’re interested in educating people and helping get their hands on some real projects. We like interactive exhibits, displays where the maker is present to talk with people about their projects, workshops that de-mystify the building process and talks that debate the social implications of making.
Booth are free for private, school or student projects, NGOs and maker start-ups (1st year).

Please apply and fill out our Call for Makers so we can figure out how to support your booth, workshop or talk.

Make Munich is the fair for trends and innovations in the areas high tech-do-it-yourself, 3D-printing, robotics, hardware-startups, wearables,  technology culture and creativity. It is the space for presentation and exchange for maker, tinkerers, electronics geeks and designers.

Building, inventing, learning, recycling, inspiration and fun are at the center of this fair „by makers for makers“. Some7.500  visitors have used this chance to connect in 2016 and visited Make Munich. Now in 2017, this special combination of creativity and technology returns to be experienced live, again!

The discussion panel will shed light on topics pertinent to makers, including social and political issues. The proven specialist panel „from maker to startup“ will deliver on the increasing economic importance of the maker movement, and will provide tangible practical assistance to maker founders.

In our workshops, makers will convey their knowledge, tips and tricks to the interested public. Whoever desires their very own print on their clothes, to learn soldering, or to coax a truly personal piece of jewelry from a 3D-printer, can finally turn their dreams into reality. Make Munich 2016 is the event for families and youths – junior makers under 12 years of age enjoy free entry!

Makers are people who create projects independently in any area of interest- from rapid prototyping, coding and creative electronics, to crafting, knitting and sewing, to art and design, to guerrilla gardening, to hacking your own food.

These people may have turned their obsession for Making into a day job, an organization, or a community. We’d like to support the Makers by providing a platform to connect with each-other, share their ideas, projects and to sell their products.
